This must be it, welcome to the new year

It's my third annual year re-cap, and in pondering the ups and downs of 2010, I can confidently say it has been a year to remember. For one thing, I blogged 50 times which helps with the remembering. This post feels kind of self-indulgent now that I'm reading over it again, but what do I care.

After a kind of shitty Fall 09 semester, I said to myself, Spring 10 is going to be the best ever! And it was! Except for maybe Fall 10. It's hard to say. Classes ended up being pretty bomb, and because of them I now know many different types of primates as well as their ear structures and tooth formations. It was my best possible semester academically as well, so I'm pretty proud of that. So is the Dean, whoever he is.

I started doing research which was mostly organizing Excel spreadsheets, but it made me feel like a productive person. I also saw a lot of concerts (Dizzy Balloon, Album Leaf, MC Lars, Hey Marseilles) which helped me get my internship at Live 105, which I guess is a big deal. It was fun and I got a cool ID badge, and on my last day Broken Bells played in studio which was a nice send off. Yaeli came to visit me and meet all of my Berkeley friends, and Cal Basketball won the Pac-10 and I felt like crying. Yeah, it was a pretty incredible semester.

Summer started out relaxing because I watched a lot of Arrested Development and babysat some kids who kind of got on my nerves. But it was all worth it cause then I went to PARIS!!! My conversational French got pretty effing good and I made a lot of friends (both American and French, lol). I also wrote down a lot of interesting quotes, mostly said by my teacher. I got so close with the girls I traveled with and climbed so many tall things. Oh and did I mention I visited Yael in Israel? Cause I did and it was amazing. I don't know how I'm ever going to top this summer, but it ignited the adventurous spirit within me and I can't wait to someday go back to France AND Israel.

Fall 10 was pretty good too. I adjusted to apartment life with my lovely 3 roommates, and as a result ate a lot of pigs in a blanket. My classes were okay, and I learned that I'm not terrible at statistics and that 1830 was a pretty depressing year despite what the July column might signify. I went to the last A's game of the season with my long-lost twin, and Cal football sucked but I devoted myself to the team and Isi Sofele anyway. I started as peer advisor for the psych department and told people which classes to take, got good at research (seriously tell me if you want to see my final presentation, there are graphs involved) and bonded with my small Chinese children.

I can't imagine 2010 being much better, so I'm really excited to see what 2011 will be like. My semester will be pretty effing busy with 4 classes plus azn tutoring, 6 hrs of research/week, peer advising, plus I'm going to be a notetaker for Anthro 1 but I like being busy so it's aiite. I'm excited to maybe exercise more, hang out with friends (esp those graduating) more often, do more roommate things, have more parties, and maybe vacuum my room more often.

Enough with this text business, here's a photo recap of the year.
